The literary and cultural specialist Elisabeth Lechner works for the department of English studies at the University of Vienna. She is currently working on her habilitation project, which explores the topics of food, power and the autobiographical works of women in English literature.
In 2020 she received her doctor’s degree from the English department in the field of British Cultural Studies with her dissertation on “Beyond Disgust: The Pop feminist Politics of Body positivity”. Her academic work was awarded the Dissertation Award 2020 by the Research Platform GAIN.
Elisabeth Lechner published the book “Riot, Don’t Diet! Aufstand der widerspenstigen Körper“ (Riot of the unruly Bodies) based on this dissertation one year later in cooperation with Kremayr & Scheriau Publishing.
