Duo Sonoma stands for a crossover of many genres, blended together to create stylistically unrestricted, expressive, and imaginative worlds of sound. Their musical journey began in childhood and has developed over 20 years into a unique interplay. The two sisters tried out many different instruments growing up and still enjoy experimenting with new ideas. This innovative enthusiasm is reflected in their different styles. In 2018, they began to present their original compositions to a wider audience. Their debut album “I” was widely and well received in the Austrian music scene in the spring of 2021. Their new album “II” came out in July 2024 and further cements their unmistakable and unique sound. It combines classical instruments with new sounds and rhythmic diversity.

Mira Gregorič

Mira Gregorič was surrounded by music from an early age. At the age of four she began taking violin lessons at the “Glasbena šola na Koroškem / Carinthian Music School” and then went to the Carinthian State Conservatory, where she was taught by Helfried Fister. Mira Gregorič graduated with honors from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with a bachelor's degree in music and movement pedagogy/rhythmics majoring in violin and musical improvisation. As a musician and composer, she plays in several formations and is also active in the field of performing arts. In summer 2020, she created the artistic short film “UNSHACKLED EPISODES” with dancer Mirjam Sadjak. In 2022, she received the Starter Scholarship for Music which enabled her to realize the interdisciplinary performance “reversed refill”.

Sara Gregorič
