Skład Niearchaiczny’s music captures the essence of the Beskid Mountains: vast, untamed, and full of striking contrasts. It is an attempt to make audible the spirit of the mountains, its boundless freedom and a force nourished by simplicity. The band draws from the traditions of the Żywiec Beskids but does not treat them as relics of the past. Their music is deeply rooted and at the same time deliberately contemporary. It’s not about reconstructing folklore, but about its continuation in sounds that blend archaic roughness with modern sensitivity. A meditation on time and memory and what traditions we want to keep alive.

The waters of Lake Lunz are fairly calm throughout the year. Things become different as soon as the participants of the Schallwellen music workshop arrive: From morning till night, there is yodelling, fiddling, and practising on the lake shore. The goal is to put together a programme that is presentable by the end of the week. The concept of this music workshop is to create a common repertoire for all workshop participants. This means that everyone learns the same pieces in their respective registers, and at the end, everything is combined into orchestral arrangements. An overwhelming experience! All of this is done by heart, without sheet music, which means that the melodies are much more likely to stay in the participants’ minds and continue to dance around in their heads throughout the year.
