The Viennese/Turkish siblings EsRAP have always celebrated being foreign, being “tschusch”. In reality, however, being different is not always enjoyable, because quite often, it comes with marginalisation. And it hurts. Esra and Enes Özmen utilise this pain for thinking beyond their personal experience. EsRAP are not to blame for their marginalisation, even though it sometimes feels like that. And this is where things become political. Contending, yet vulnerable: this is how the press described the first appearances of the rap duo EsRAP with Marino Formenti. Formenti is an exceptional pianist based in Vienna, whose unorthodox shows tend to create some stir in the classical music scene. The three musicians are going to present a project that amalgamates rap, Turkish arabesque or Balkan sounds with classical and contemporary piano sounds. In addition, companion DJ King supports the trio on the turntables.
